Registration, Progress, and Assessment
Registration
You can register on the platform by clicking the “Register” link in the top-right corner of the page. You will be asked to provide an email address and a password.
Note: If you are a student at Aalto University, including an exchange student or an Open University student, use your Aalto credentials to sign in to the platform. Select “Continue with Aalto Account” from either the registration or login page. You must also be enrolled in the current course offering in Sisu and select the platform course instance specified on the offering’s MyCourses page. Enrollment in Sisu and course-instance selection on the platform are separate steps.
Keep using the same account. This way, your progress is recorded and you can continue where you left off. If you forget your password, use the “Forgot password?” link on the login page to reset it.
Progress tracking
The platform records your study progress. Sign in before beginning assessed work and continue with the same account. The majority of the coursework on this platform is automatically assessed.
When you are signed in, the progress control in the lower-right corner of the materials opens a view of your progress in the current part and across the course. It also lists completed and pending exercises.
Exercises, feedback, and resubmission
Exercises are completed and submitted individually, although collaboration and the use of generative AI tools are permitted as described in Collaboration, Academic Integrity, AI, and Support. If an activity on the platform outlines an expected structure or format, follow the guidelines.
Some programming exercises may, for example, expect a specific file structure, naming convention, or function signature. If you do not follow the expected structure, your submission may fail to compile or run. In such a case, the feedback may be limited to a compilation or runtime error message.
Coursework can be resubmitted as many times as you like. If you have received full marks for an exercise, you may still resubmit your coursework to improve your understanding of the material.
The policy that you may resubmit as many times as you like may change in the future.
Grading and credits
For students completing the course for credit at Aalto University, the MyCourses page of the current course offering is the authoritative source for registration requirements, grading, credits, deadlines, and course completion. The MyCourses page also contains information about the course examinations, which are completed without AI support.
These materials are available at no cost for self-study.
